Dissatisfied with billing process increases without notification and fair reasoning
I have watched our bill increase from the 25% fee for fuel figured from the charge for our dumpster which is a 6 yard, they then charge another 25% from the dumpster charge for environmental fees. This is ludicrous, I pay $115.00 for a 6 yard dumpster which was $123.05 this includes the cost of $8.05 environmental fee when our contract started was signed and it is now $196.00.
133.00 for the dumpster then $33.25 for environmental services which is 25% markup from the cost of the dumpster and then they charge $29.81 for a seperate fuel fee which is roughly 23% markup from the cost of the dumpster. They then get you buy making you sign a very lengthy time spanned contract. What if the you move and they don't service your area. Find that this company is a very big rip off.
They agreed to bring me a larger dumpster but that would then bring cause to sign a new contract for another minimum time of 3 years. They are scamming their customers. I have no problem with environmental fees and fuel fees but these seem to be a bit astronomical and feel that it is price gouging. I will finish out my contract that they say I have to do and I will never do business with this company again.
We are in a industrial park and if everyone of our businesses are doing business with this company and just in my building there are 3 companies that is $120.00 a month they are making on fees for one truck to go to the landfill.Be vigilante and read your documents.
Because they contradict the fact that they are supposed to only make changes with written and agreement between you and them. They then go on to say they can at their discretion change it to what is reasonable, these costs are not reasonable it is called price gouging. I am a reasonable person, just explain why the costs are so high, don't just say it depends on the distance for the land fills. What do they change where they go ever week?
Then if you read the Terms they will automatically renew at another 60 months if you do not send them notice in writing prior to the end of your contract. That seems fishy as well. If you are on the up and up then you should be sending new contracts to your customers before their previous contract expires not hide it in the fine print that you will automatically renew. I know fuel is expensive so break it down, if the gate fee is increased let me know that and I understand marking something up, but what is next over the next 3 years I have my contract that they can mark it up to 60% because they feel like it.
That just seems totally illegal. I hope to give you all a chance before signing on with these crooks.
There are many other disposal companies that are charging the fees but at a more reasonable percentage for markup and I have never heard of having to sign a 5 year contract to use their service when I rent the building I am in. My lease is not even that long my space is I am using right now.

Verified ReviewerFailed to pick up Trash and advise whether it was a new driver or not
We have been customers for 7 years and we have placed our trash bin in the same position/place each Tuesday evening to ensure it gets pick up on Wednesday. This is the 4th time that our trash has not been retrieved.
It has been my observation that GFL is NEVER at fault. They are not able to produce evidence that our trash did not meet the criteria to be pick up. It's most likely that it was a new driver and were not able to stop and or brake timely because our property is located downhill. It is most likely that it was a new driver and was not prepared to stop.
But instead of telling the truth they lie and falsify and say that we did not meet the guideline. I phoned customer service and she was not even able or maybe willing to tell me where i could go to make a Review. So Sad and not customer friendly. She simply made excuses.
Again, this is the 4th time they have done it and now they are insisting that we pay a $25 fee to do what they should have already done.
This is shameful. It's just a matter of time before we are no longer.

Back in Nov 1 of 2023 I purchased a New 96 gallon trash can I ordered over the phone with the company of that day on Nov 1 2023 and waited and waited for it and then after I called and waited some more... and waited I called back again and asked them where my trash can I ordered and then waited some more...
finally I called back and they said it on it way.. ya ok and waited again... And then it finally was delivered on a day before Christmas.. and then when I received it..
it was a Used and wrong Color 96 gallon trash Can so I called and Called finally they said they where going replaced it . . and apologize to me and then I called back cause they didn't show up to replace it.. and then I called back and the Route Manager said they are Not replacing it..
and telling me different.. so I asked them to pick it up sense there not replacing it and that I wont my money back.. a refund..
and of course I haven't heard anything back.. besides them telling me I stuck with it from what the Route Manager said verbally over the phone...

GFL purchased our normal local waste removal company. We were not informed until after the sale, and it has been nothing but a nightmare cents.
They have missed our pick up twice now since this merger took place several months ago. I have a trashcan sitting at the top of my driveway that has been there for over a week. Trying to call them is impossible. You are on 30 minutes worth of a whole time before somebody picks up the phone to tell you that they are sorry and they will put you on a missed pick up run.
That has not happened yet.
they are awful and have made no effort whatsoever to explain what is going on or just admit, they are trying to grow much too big much too fast. Do not order service from these people.

OMG I Need a green top with black bottom 96 gallon one That I Ordered a New one the wright color one... Please... Everytime I've called and wait and wait and transfer to this person or nother person and wait some more and being transferred again I keep getting run around saying that there out of those cans or telling me it was only one they had and it wasn't one it was used dirty Can and had groves on the side of it and mark up too and had food stuck in it.. OMG so please contact me and let me know again when can I get my New Can and take that wrong can Back..
Again Please Call Stephen 734-858-**** and my address is 27561Moulon Rouge Dr in Romulus mi 48174 I'm in Huron Estate mobile home park and is this how you treat people when they order something Brand New and get something used and wrong color one.. I will be speaking to my attorney about this matter.

I have had more increases in my bill than I can count. Every time I call or ask for clarification, the next bill has another price increase.
When I finally was within the timeframe to cancel my contract, I received another price increase.
Why is their competition charging literally half the pricing as GFL, for the same services???
I just want out of my contract with GFL!
I attached the latest bill for $321.62. For one recycling container and one garbage container. Pick up once per month for both containers.
But I was notified via email that my bill went up another $39.00 per month, since I cancelled my services with them. Waiting to get the paper bill in the mail with this new amount and I will happily share with you.
So now I'll be paying $360.62 a month.
John's disposal is going to charge me $180.00 per month for the exact same services, same size disposals, same once a month pick up.
And John's has no taxes, or extra fees or a contract to sign. LITERALLY HALF THE PRICE AS GFL!!!

They are the worst trash company out there. They charge you 50 dollars to come get their crap from your property. Bill went from 19 a month to 35 a month with no warnings at all.
Customer service is nonexistent!!!
